I have not used this area for a long time, but have decided to start running reviews. I have created my store based on many products I have found by referral or just by researching and using myself. My first review and to finish the 2021 year is something I think is a good thing. Training. No matter if we are campers, overlanders, preppers, or just gear junkies. Knowledge and training is something that should never end.
I was sent a sample of the X10 and Bore Rail mount by Mantis with their request that I use it a while and review it. I used it for a month logged in and recording my experiences, and then a month with it not logged in. It records and tracks your training information when logged in, but allows you to log off to try a new firearm or to train without interfering or mixing with your progress.
The benefit of this system is an accurate training assistant to help you with firearm safety without attending a range and using live ammunition. You have a small device the size of a traditional laser and a quick bluetooth connection allows you to train anywhere you are, at any time.
The Mantis website is well informed with product information and videos. A quick review and I had all the knowledge I needed to set up my unit. I have been working with a CZ P-01 and Ruger SP101. After that, it is as simple as following directions on the screen. I use it with my iPhone and have had no problems. It has multiple training scenarios and you can refer back to the prior history to review your sets. I ran most with 5 shot scenarios, due to the revolver.
The adapter rail allows the system to be used with firearms that are not manufactured with a rail. A polymer plug with a rail slot exposed allows revolvers, rifles and derringers to be used with training. The 4 adapters allow: 9mm, 380ACP, 38 Special, 357 Magnum, 357 Sig, 10mm, 40S&W, 44 Magnum, 45ACP, and 45 Colt.
I will continue to train with this system and will update next year with another opinion of their system. Right now, I really like this setup and will be sharing this with friends for their training work.
